Memories of Carlton in Lindrick
My family lived here in 1830s and were called Betts. I wonder if anyone was aware about a lady who married a George Betts my 3rd Gt Grandfather, her name was Catharina Nicholson and was from Italy I believe but was born in Greece. If anyone has information i would be very grateful. I know that she is buried in the local churchyard in 1885.
I lived on Hawthorne Way and went to Langold School, but only for a few months. Used to hang about with my cousin, Alan Anderson, Mo Mills and Danny Dunning to name but a few.
Hi, Just wondered does anyone remember the Preece family that used to live in West View, opposite the war memorial on the main road.? My name was Susan Preece, I lived there with my mother and father, and went to the local school. I remember Padley's shop which was in the middle of the village. Lovely village. Sue.
My great-grandmother lived in Water Lane, my grandmother Annie Bradford lived in Low Street. We lived on the Cross, as did my sister and husband, June and John Medlam.
