More about this scene
Caption for Corbridge, Main Street C1955: The building facing our cameraman is Monksholme, built in the early 17th century as an inn; it has genuine attic dormers, and was restored in 1891. Across the road to the left stands Low Hall. This building is thought to be a late 13th- to early 14th-century hall that was raised to a pele-tower during the 15th century. A major extension was added to the rear of the building during the 19th century.
