Lytham, The Sands And Pier 1913

More about this scene
Hardly a stone's throw from industrial Preston, Lytham's shore and pier were popular destinations for a day-out. The children playing at the water's edge have made a proper occasion of it by bringing a wigwam, and notice the two tots riding on the donkeys; instead of wobbling about on saddles, they sit in the comfortable security of basket-work thrones.
