Ruislip, High Street c.1960

More about this scene
The camera looks away from the original village centre into the alternative Ruislip of the 1930s and towards the Metropolitan line station of 1904. It is an attractive, almost domestic building, now somewhat blighted by modern office development. On the south side of the station is the Barn Hotel, an attractive timber-framed complex incorporating a very tipsy barn.
