Swimming Baths

I think that this view looks back towards the Mitcham Fair Green. If I am right, on the left would be the Swimming baths where I used to go now and again with friends. I seem to remember that it was very basic, with changing cubicles opening directly onto the pool.

Chase Land And Larkswood

My memory is the same as Alan Mowbray. We lived at Leadale Avenue, Chingford and I remember standing at the edge of the pool freezing cold and the teacher tellling us to jump in. I also remember the grotty changing rooms.

Polar Bear

Wellingborough Zoo had the saddest Polar Bear I have ever seen. Its enclosure was roughly three times the size of the bear and its pool was hardly bigger than a bath tub. Even as a small child, I knew this was cruel. It really upset me. Wendy Nicolle, nee March.

Burnham Road Swimming Pool

I remember the pool as a teacher for the Dartford swimming club, people that were around in those days were Hazel Outram, now my wife, Jimmy Clubb, Dave Randall, Dave Watkins, other names I'm not sure of. Anybody out there? I would love to find any old photos etc of the club or swimming in the area.
