Timothy Whites & Taylors was once a familiar shop selling medicines and household goods on many high streets. It was taken over by Boots, whose shop on the right displays a flag advertising the Booklovers' Library. Beyond the Midland Bank, the old Tremayne House has lost its upper floor, although Myners the butchers still occupy the shop below.
