This image is a Reference Print: it has not been shown on our website before as it has not been optimised and therefore may not meet the quality standards we require for use in our normal product range. However, we understand that this image could be potentially important for genealogical, local history or architectural research and so we are showing it on the website for on-line research only. The photo may be available to buy, but needs to be checked and optimised before you can place an order.

Why are these different? All 300,000 photographs in The Frith Collection have been scanned, but as the photos were taken over a 110 year period on a wide range of glass & film negatives, using different photographic processes, every image has to be checked and optimised, before we make a print for a customer.

I wonder if anyone has an old photo of the pub called The Parson & Clerk before it became a Toby Carvery? I have tried the company but was just too late as they have refurbished it recently and none of the old photos remain. My Mother was born there in 1915 when her parents, Robert & Dolly Wright were either Landlords or owners, I don't know which. Anything that could go in the family records ...see more

I spent most of my spare time at the Riding School, I kept my horse at home but used the indoor school, took rides out and have been ever indebted to Colonel Leech for his help and support for all those years. He was my hero. I made lots or friends and had a great deal of fun. My house was demolished not long ...see more
I remember going to Streetly Riding School in Manor Road which was opposite the Buccaneer pub. I wasn't a good rider as mom & dad couldn't afford lessons for me in those days, but I ...see more

Ted Shelley in the newsagents where I went with my pocket money to buy my weekly comic, also a very spooky antique shop run by the equally antique couple who used to scare me silly as a young girl. It was an old curiosity shop with a musty smell, quite dark inside as well. How about ...see more
