Sun Street

Hi my name is Julia Amos and I lived at 26 sun street (1954), my grandmother lived at 24 sun street named Julia my farther was jack Amos ( her son)

My grandad Edward Davies was drafted in to fight in the First World War just after his 18th birthday. On his service record his next of Kin was given as Richard John - 25 Sun Street Birkenhead. This was in 1918. As a young lad in the 1960s we were taken to Sun Street to visit his sisters who still lived there. Molly and Nancy never married as there weren't enough young men to go round after war. They were frightened to answer the door after dark and the house was like a museum. Nothing had been updated in 50 years, they never had a telly and still had the old fire/range that would be a a real talking piece in a modern house. There was a street running parallel to it called Moon St. which was bombed during the 2nd world war.

My Great Grandfather Michael Byrne lived at 28 Sun Street for a time at least he was there in 1963 but possibly for a number of years before. I think he was married to a lady called Elizabeth at this point, possibly known as Dizz. Does anyone remember them?

This is a real long shot, but does anyone here have knowledge of the Emmas family who lived at 12 Sun Street, Birkenhead in the 1890s. John was a delegate for the dockers union. Elizabeth (Eliza) later went on to run a fish fryer stall and a guest House after John strangely and inexplicably disappeared. They had six children.
I'm not expect memories of them of course, but maybe stories about them might have survived. They were both quite well known in the town.
