More about this scene
The marketplace here was probably laid out in the 13th century, and some of the buildings in the Old Town are 17th-century. This promenade was laid out to attract the Victorian visitor, and the town was noted for its beautiful flowerbeds. On the left we can just see a small part of a rockery.
