The half-timbered building on the left is being used by Bristol bus and coach services. The Bristol Tramways and Carriage Co was taken over by the Corporation in 1937. All 237 trams were identical, and all were open-topped. The tramway closed in April 1941 when a bomb destroyed the power supply.
