Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

North-east of the village and north of the A415 Abingdon Road is a large complex of austere Gothic- style buildings. This is now the European School, and not much softened with age. The original building exudes the muscular Christianity of the High Victorian ecclesiastical style, and was founded by Samuel Wilberforce, Bishop of Oxford. Opening in 1853 as a teacher training college, it was one of the earliest in England. This view is from the north, now obscured by many modern buildings. The cabbages no doubt fed the trainee teachers.
