Ferry Lane Guildford Tea Room

A Memory of Guildford.

I remember my Uncle Reg taking people across the River Wey on a punt. Now there is a bridge. He also made a bench and a small bridge over the spring that cam out of the hillside. This was where the Pilgrims were supposed to be refreshing themselves before continuing on their journey. Reg and Silvia moved to Godalming in the early 1960;s and I would love to contact their daughter Veronica who I remember as being beautiful, who would be 73 now, or her children as I am trying to trace my family tree. My Grandmother was a servant in Guildford and then she moved to London and I think Sylvia was related to her. In those days nobody talked to their children about where they came from so it is a mystery waiting to be unravelled.

Forgot to add that Re & Sylvia's surname was Pennycate. Does anyone remember the tea rooms?
