Suttons 1955 1960

A Memory of Hornchurch.

Lived at 387 Elm Park Avenue. Benhurst Primary, then Suttons.
I too studied under Miss/Mrs Syrett, Mr Walsh (great guy) / Mr Crew/ and the formidable Mr Pike for the last two years! Was he a stern bully or just trying to toughen us up for life? I was in the first extended course and left at 16 as Head Boy. Other names ; Mr D’Arcy (Head), I then did an apprenticeship at a plastics factory in Wingletye Lane. In a Skiffle Group (Ramblers) with John and Colin, becoming Sean Buckley and The Breadcrumbs. Met Vonda my wife at a Barking gig. Had a career in Plastics and still working part time at nearly 78. Would remember other names of friends (Clive/David/Derek/Russell/Norman/) if prompted, as memory going!
Maybe this has brought back some memories for you out there?? Keith Kelly

OMG!! Does this bring back memories! I too had the same teachers but Mr Guest was my favourite when I was 13 (second year of HS)- I also was not picked to play on the field hockey team with students that year so the teachers picked me to round out their team :) I lived in the Hostel down the end of Suttons Road - that put me at a disadvantage back then because we were known as the POOR people - it did not stop me from achieving great things in my life - phd in nuclear technology! My best friend was Brenda McCracken and I would love to know if anyone else knew her. Also Beryl Jones was a friend but I lost contact with her.
