Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

Deep in the Colne Valley, Slaithwaite is dominated by the massive Worsted Mills. The main Huddersfield to Manchester railway makes its way along the steep side of the valley, and it has to cross many side valleys. There are two massive bridges in the town, and before the line east reaches another viaduct at Golcar, it passes over these smaller seven arches opposite the town of Linthwaite.

New Leeds
I remember Leeds best as it was, now the new Buildings are ugly the beautiful area in front of the Civic Hall concreted over in the name of the Millenium they are destroying the beautiful Architecture and building monstrosities the Market is nothing like it used to be stalls closing all the time ,yes the Leeds of the past was wonderful

Fc Coleridge Boar Lane Leeds
As a young woman i worked at F C Coleridge ladies fashion shop where Mr Chapman was the manager at the time also one of the ladies names Trudie Halliday who used to sing opera when the shop was empty happy times . Coleridges also had another branch at the bottom of Thorntons Arcade in Briggate named Barringtons where I also worked for a time my name then was Dorothy Jacobs now Appleton .

Nursing Training At 'jimmy's'
My mother, Doreen Hall (Nee Bilton), related these memories to me: I started nursing at St James’ Hospital, Leeds (Jimmy's) in 1948. I was 17 years old, the only one straight from school. I didn’t need any qualifications – but I had my school certificate. Bata Shoe Store

Worked at Bata shoe store in 1962 /1964 would love to see a pic of this store - was next to Mac Fisheries and near Craven A Cafe. I worked with Gloria Oliver from Wortley. On Sat nights we went to the ladies loos opposite to have a wash and brush up and change our clothes so we could go on our night out! great times.

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
