More about this scene
In the time of James I the leafy grounds where this celebrated royal palace now stands grew mulberry bushes for the silk industry. The palace was built in its original form in the early 1700s and adapted to the Palladian style by John Nash in the 1830s.The Lord Chamberlain was always inundated with requests to view from the public, but permits were only granted to view the royal stables.
