More about this scene
From market place to bus terminus, centre for further education and declining shopping area; by 1955 Park Square was ripe for the redevelopment that did not actually happen for another 25 years. Partially hidden by street furniture and a Green Line bus, the imposing building to the left is Luton Technical College, opened in 1906 as Luton Secondary School and now the site of Luton University. The pub sign for the Brewer's Tap is just visible to the rear of the bus on the right and just in front of the brewery.
