Sudbury, The Old Moot Hall 1932
Photo ref:

More about this scene
This 15th-century building was either an early Moot (Town) Hall or a Guildhall. The Royal Arms of James I above a ground-floor fireplace may indicate its continuing official use into the 17th century. Externally, the gates at the far end, the right- hand doorway, the ground-floor square bay windows, the lean-to at this end and all the diagonal timbers have been removed since 1932. The carving on the upper floor oriel window, and on another hidden round the corner, is of a high quality.
