Caption for Westbury Sub Mendip, The Post Office C1955: Village stocks were once attached to this cross, which stands at the junction of roads to Wells, Draycot and Westbury. Its six octagonal tiers of steps date from the 15th century, but the shaft is more recent. The post office/stores is now a computer business, with a new stores opposite.
