This aerial shot shows the whole of the northern part of the town. In the distance is Birnbeck Pier with the steamer jetty to the north, and the lifeboat slipway on the south. In the distance a paddle steamer can be seen leaving the pier on its way to Wales. In the centre, the Marine Lake links Claremont with Knightstone, while to the right, the elegance of the mid 19th-century terraces and crescents is still apparent.
