Willaston, The Old Hall And Smithy c.1940

More about this scene
The Hall is situated close to the village green along Hadlow Road. This imposing three-storey building is constructed from red brick, and has an Elizabethan-style front that includes three tall gables that we can clearly see here. It is thought that it dates from the 17th century, despite a date-stone carved over the door which is inscribed 'HB 1558'. The small village smithy on the right has now gone.
