A Memory of Wokingham.
Anyone remember the petrol station ,next to saint Crispins school called Bourne and Thomas,a real traditional garage ,the thames trader tipper trucks moving the soil from the A329m ,green in colour ,think the company name was harry cough . searles , the shop next to saint crispins always smelling of fresh coffee ! ,David Greggs ,Cordings ,the toy shop ,the suzuki center ,dewhursts the butchers and baxters the butchers ,,nss news agents ,keith manning motor cycles ,sava center head office, all great town center shops ,and the old boy who stood outside the post office with greased back hair .shiney shoes selling the standard !Also long live Hazlewoods the little sweet shop in Wetscott road ,there was another one in seaford road but i cant remember what that was called!Also remeber a guy called Pegsey used to sell fruit n veg from his mobile van ! Shops at beanoak ,bernie and connie ran the news agents ,the model shop , the hardware shop n Beanoak butchers! Bolloms the carpet shop ,and the aquarium above it . think the foskett family ran it .last one the large iron bridge ,a great big arched one opposite st pauls church . God bless dinner ladies mrs root ,and mrs chalis (chalis basher)

There was a sweet shop opposite St Crispin's main entrance in London Road. There were two other shops in London Road opposite the churchyard.
Harry Coff and there was also Ham River. Both transported mostly gravel.
popular. Mr. Blackman used to cross us over the road. Mr. Vokes was my favourite teacher at Wescott Road school.
