I was born in Wrexham and spent the first 10 years of my life living in Bryn Estyn Rd, Rhosnesni. I attended Covent School, Gerald Street, then Borras Park Junior. I then went to Bromfield School where my dad was a teacher. A lot of my friends went to St Davids and I remember missing them so much. I attended what I believe was the first 'Pre-Apprentice Course' at what was then known as the ' Tech'., between 1960-61. Our form teacher was affectionately known as 'Educated Evans', a great guy who taught us a great deal. Having just re-read Professor A.H Dodd's "A history of Wrexham" He was amazed at how much history, buildings etc had been swept away in the name of progress from 1850 to 1950. He published his book and died in 1975, lamenting some of the beautiful buildings that had been demolished. I recall attending this college from 1964 to 1968 first on a secretarial course, "O" levels course and finally a National Diploma course which got me into the University of Manchester. I remember a Mr Bunn (I think that was his name) being a head of department and Bob Watkins being an inspirational English teacher. I also recall PE with a Mr Griffiths which I hated.
