Wells, High Street 1961

More about this scene
Wells is, of course, famed for its superb cathedral and the Bishop's Palace. The town is also a very fine one, with much of its medieval plan intact. Indeed, many of the Georgian and 19th-century facades in the High Street, which winds uphill towards the market place, conceal medieval and later timber-framed buildings.
