Caption for Wimborne, the Square c1965: Here we see the south side of Wimborne's square at a time when the bank was called the Midland. This, with the nearby Minster, was the heart of the town. Sir John Guest's son Ivor took his title - Lord Wimborne - from the name of the town when he was elevated to the peerage in 1880.
