More about this scene
Silver Street originally stood just outside the city walls, linking Lowesmoor with Corn Market, until it was cut off from the latter by the construction of City Walls Road. It was the original site of Worcester General Infirmary, which opened in 1746 with just 30 beds. In 1771 it was replaced by the present infirmary in Castle Street.
