Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

The former London, City and Midland Bank has become plain Midland Bank, but familiar names such as Hepworths and H Samuel remain unchanged from earlier years, though sporting modern faciae. Traffic lights, signs and bollards are cluttering the streetscape and the charm of the past is evaporating. The northbound bus is most probably a Midland Red on its way to Birmingham.

Best Guinness In Town!
The little white building in the middle is the Lamb & Flag. I spent many a happy lunchtime & evening there in the '80's. It was a Marstons pub, run then by Don & Sheila Jones, an Irish couple who I think had been there since the early 1970's. It had a tiny front bar, a slightly larger rear one, & a yard. Liquid Lunches
The photo of the Crown took me back to the late '70's/early '80's. I was a young Civil Servant, & the Crown, with it's real ale, was my offices favourite haunt at lunchtime on payday. As we worked flexitime, 2 hour lunches were not uncommon, or finishing work early on Friday. Mum And Dads Wedding Reception
Today I found through old telegrams that my mother and father had their wartime wedding reception at the Cadena Cafe in Worcester I was so pleased to see this photo.My Mum was working at the munitions factory in Blackpole and my Dad was building aeroplane shelters that was in Octiber 1942.

Austin Saloons
My father was a grocer with a shop in Stourport. Every Wednesday afternoon the shop was closed and he took my mother shopping to Worcester. In the school holidays I was also taken. His car was an Austin Saloon similar to the one in the photograph and the busy street is exactly as I remembered.

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
