More about this scene
This is one of the oldest schools in the country. Some believe it was founded in the 7th century, but the first documentary reference was in 1291. Elizabeth I granted it a royal charter in 1561, at which time it was located in St Swithin's Street, only moving to its present location on Upper Tything in 1868.
