My parents took me for a fortnight 's holiday to Nefyn in 1957. We stayed with Mrs. S. Jones in Maes -y-Fynnon, Well Street from 20.07.1957 to 03.08.1957. The apartment cost 15 shillings. Our car was parked overnight in the Blue Motor Garage and cost £1.8.0 for the fortnight. Happy memories of a lovely holiday. I was 8 years old.
I revisited Edern & Morfa Nefyn after my last visit which was in 1954 with my Mum and Dad as a 12 year old child. I remembered everywhere and my husband was worried I would be disappointed as things would have changed, but they had not. It was just the same and I loved it. This is a photo of all three named "institutions" with the Red Garage and Church Hall just off to the left. I thought this was an ENORMOUS road and we never crossed it by the Memorial! That is Nefyn Primary School on the left, which I attended from 1960 until I passed the "eleven plus" and moved on to Pwllheli Grammar School. My memorys of Nefyn: Our family used to stay on a caravan site just outside Nefyn village up by the little garage and football pitch. We came from Liverpool, and me and my sisters Ann and Tereasa and brother Gary spent hours on the football field. We are all Evertonians.
