Abergavenny, The Black Mountains From Crucorney c.1960

More about this scene
The ridge of Hatterall Hill and the Black Mountains in the distance is the route for a walk with panoramic views to Hay Bluff. This is the area of Offa's Dyke Path; it is named after the 8th-century Mercian king who built a dyke from the Severn to the Dee to shut the Welsh out. In doing so, he helped to define the borders of Wales.
