Broadstairs, a well-known resort on the Isle of Thanet between Margate and Ramsgate, retains its village atmosphere. Charles Dickens once lived here, and today there is an annual Dickens festival. It has quaint streets, a promenade, cliffs and a harbour, together with a fine old church. The tower of Holy Trinity Church to the right was poorly designed and constructed, and was eventually demolished in 1924.

Fairfield House

I was at Fairfield house about 1963 i was five I remember mrs fisher.and I remember.that in the summer we used to have an afternoon sleep in the garden.I had such a wonderful time there .I remember we used to go to the beach and eat our lunch there sandwiches.and in the mornings school time .I would love to have a picture or photo of Fairfield house been looking on line and can’t find one .I remember the bedside ...see more

St Marys Children‘S Convalescent Home .1952 1956

I. am pretty sure this is the same place I was sent to with Chronic Asthma, when I was two until I was Six years old. It was called St.Marys and was run by an order of nuns. I remember having to have daily sun ray treatments daily, and were in dormatories. There was a massive big room where we had to lay on very thin type flat mattresses from 1.00 pm till 2pm for our afternoon naps. ...see more

St.Lo Badminton Club.
Jack Daly and, Jock Sommerville, taught me to play badminton on a Saturday morning at St. Lo, and later on in an evening, I joined Phoenix Badminton club at St. Lo.

Fairfield House.

Miss Brook head,miss coyne deputy Both down the lodge,behind lodge was field kept ponies & donkeys. Trampoline was great! Fete of stalls & crazy wobble bikes, basement was a disco, old piano too. Smoking in shrubbery behind shed by incinerator, jumping back wall to town & my number was (32 ). 1973》76. Teresa D.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
