Lovely Memories

A Memory of Calne.

I was at greenacres approved school in 1965. Miss Goldsmith was the headmistress. Wicked woman. I worked on the farm after coming out of the classroom at 15, Mr. Hayes was the teacher a Welsh man very nice. Miss trgenza was the in charge of the farm. I became a young farmer. The girls I remember from there are. Rachel craddock, Jackie Davis, Pamela craddock. Lois Henley.A girl named Charlene but can't remember her last name, but remember she had quite big feet. The school was quite regimental and very strict. I remember Mrs wright the nurse. Miss czeckonovska think the spelling wrong she was a house mother. Mr woos Mr fortune who were the gardeners. Anybody still in touch with anybody from 65

Hi Jeanette. I am the son of the Mr Hayes you mention. I am glad you remember him, he was very proud of his time at Greenacres. Did you know he was the first male teacher ever in a girl's approved school? They had to get the rules changed for him. We lived just across the allotments and I was cycling to Bentley grammar every day.
