Crewe, Market Hall c.1950

When I was younger, my Mum and Dad moved from Liverpool and came to live in Crewe. We lived in the Huts from 1945 to 1957. I'm 84 years old now and I remember those days being the happiest times of my life. It was an all-ladies' college when I attended. Many friendships were made. Memories of teaching practices at schools in Crew and surrounds. Although I was born in Nantwich (1956), in the Barony hospital, I grew up in Crewe until the age of about twelve. We lived in Ellis Street, which then, if memory serves me right, only had three houses, even though we were in number 8! I lived in Remer St from 1941 to 1966. I remember;- Bonars farm , Mosses farm, Barnetts farm all on Remer St. Groby Rd residents, Percy Barnett, Arthur and Lizzie Badrock. Powells farm. North St Chapel Beeches garage Elliots fish and chips , Greenway Dolly Bostocks shop Greenway Billy Stretch cobblers North St. He was deaf and dumb. Micklewrights farm Stoneley Rd.
