We always refered to the pleasure boat as the 'Coker Boat'. Was this the name of the owner? I am not sure of the spelling, it was only a verbal reference and we were only young!

Hello, This is a bit of a long shot but I am just doing some research into a house my sister has recently moved into. I was wondering if anyone knew when the houses on the sands estate (Lower Sands) were built roughly. we have been visiting Dymchurch all our lives (she is 42) and it has been there all that time. I am struggling to find much information. Thank you

I had several really good holidays in Dymchurch in the early 1970's . I stayed with my family at White Gables Guest House , at the time run by a Mr and Mrs Beecroft. It was a beautiful thatched building on The Oval , very near the beach. My sister Marjorie Andrew and her husband Ralph had the Vic between 1940 and 1950. I lived in Yorkshire and visited every year during the summer holidays and I loved the place. I did read that it had been renamed after refurbishment of the outside where the original name of the Ship Inn was discovered, then retained. I would love to hear from anyone who was around st that time.
