I was born at 138 Burgess Road in East Ham and remember a shop on the corner I used to frequent before school, Ottaways or something like like. I used to get 1 old pence to spend on sweets, either 8 black jacks or 8 fruit salads. I went to Altmore School and then onto Lathom before moving, as a lot of East End folk to Becontree. However I did spend two years living on the Barking Road where my parents run a Wavy Line ...see more
I lived there for 14 years, what happy days they were, always lots to do. Never got bored, great community spirit there we all looked out for each other then, played in the Barking rec opposite, happy days. Anyone else live at Dukes Court? I was Jacqueline east then.

133 Clemintine Road, Layton - Charles Henry Darby his wife Laura Charlotte Woolston. He was a baker, he had daughters; Vera Frances and Gwendoline Phyllis and sons; Ernest Edward and Joseph William.
