Grantchester, The Church Of St Andrew And St Mary 1929

More about this scene
The last two lines of Rupert Brooke's poem 'The Old Vicarage, Grantchester' have immortalised the church: 'Stands the church clock at ten to three/And is there honey still for tea?' It is believed that the clock was actually broken when the poet was living in Grantchester. For years after Brooke's death, the clock was kept at that time as a memorial to him.
