St Austell, Crinnis Beach c.1955
Photo ref:

More about this scene
As at Par, the Crinnis Beach is also largely a result of the deposition of waste from the mining and china clay industries. The old cliff line is protected by a wide expanse of sand, and the highest tides barely surround Crinnis Island. The paler seawater beyond the point is polluted with clay brought into the bay by the Par stream.
