Tuck Shop

A Memory of Wimbledon.

I remember going to the shop run by Mr and Mrs John Croft in Pelham Road at break time, to buy hot jam doughnuts and beer lollipops.
Lived in Gladstone Road, went to Pelham School and Merton Rush (on the corner of Dorset/Kingston Road). The smell of fresh ground coffee from a shop in the Broadway. Saturday morning pictures. Now living in Morden since 1987.

Yep - I remember the tuck shop round the corner from the school, but more importantly the smell of coffee from the shop on the Broadway near the town hall (where the trams and the trolleybuses turned round). And Saturday morning pictures at the Odeon - very noisy if the film was boring!
I went to the elite (ABC)cinema opposite.
Also did a paper rounds Broadway Palmerston Russell Pelham Griffiths roads.
