More about this scene
Another view of Greyfriars, this time showing the impressive front elevation. The friary from which it took its name was founded by the Franciscan order in 1235. The Franciscans, or Grey Friars, were a mendicant order founded by St Francis of Assisi. Their friary in Worcester was of considerable importance, exercising authority over others in the West Midlands.
