Mr Grandfather Fred Dunn had a Milk round in Bruton, His cows were in Ladywells and his Milk round was known as Lusty Dairy not sure of the year he started he also had cows in Lusty. He used to take milk round in a can with a Dipper to houses before he bottled at our house. Milk went through cooler and was then taken out to houses. His son Maurice took over and he had Coombe Hill Farm He finished in 1954 then a Mr Edwards took over for a time after that another Dairy came to Bruton.
can you remember the milk man in Bruton ! HE HAD A DAITY FARM JUST OT OF THE VILLAGE ! OR THE NAME OFTHE STREET OR LANE IT WAS IN !!I WAS THERE 1N 1944 OMN HOLIDAYS AT THE AGE OF 6 THANK YOU ROY COMPTON !!
I have lived at Mobby House, Wyke Champflower for 25 years and was interested to read that Audrey O'Halloran was born there. The name of the house has always been a talking point, perhaps Audrey could shed some light on the matter! Look forward to hearing more memories from Wyke Champflower and perhaps Mobby House!
I was born at Mobby House, Wyke Champflower, in 1939, my father was a farm hand. We moved to Hill House Farm, when I was 6years old, so that my mother could work in the dairy, where the cheese making was done. We moved from the farm when I was 12years old to Hill House Cottage, as the farmhouse was needed for the farming family.
