The bowling green and tennis courts are beyond the café building (centre). The line of skiffs and rowing boats indicates the popularity of such a holiday pastime.

Running from the Market Place to the station and level crossing at the bottom of the hill, Berry Lane leads to today's town centre.
Between the wars, the urban sprawl of Swansea engulfed the village, and developments pushed west and north from the city centre.
On the far side there is a packed industrial waterside where now the South Bank Centre and the Royal National Theatre stand.
