Parts of it date from the 1400s, and the three bells are said to have come from the Abbey after it was pulled down.
The house on the left with its whitewashed tile-hangings is Old Forge Cottage, which apparently dates from 1321 - it was for sale at the time of the photograph.
The house beyond with the catslide rear roof is dated 1694.
Many houses have date plaques, and most fall into a range between 1890 and 1910.
Top right: Ecclesall Church, an important landmark in this sprawling suburb, dates from 1788 and replaced an ancient chapel that was served by the monks of Beauchief Abbey.

The chancel, with its high-pitched roof, dates from the early 13th century, though some parts of the church are thought to be 12th-century.
A fine tomb chest in the south aisle is carved from black Catacleuse stone and dates from around 1400.
