Motor-cars have replaced the horse-drawn carriages, and the Quadrant Motors sign on the left indicates the entrance to a yard behind the shops where maintenance and repairs were carried out. There is a bus stop near the seated man; this was for the regular service from Kingston, a major shopping area, through the centre of Weybridge and onwards to the station. In the distance can be seen Portmore House, an 18th-century listed building, originally on the Portmore Park estate. The clock, centre left, was erected in 1932 by Savory's the clothiers at No 1 The Quadrant — it was also used to mark the bus stop.
