Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Queen's Park provided them with an opportunity to escape from the grit and the grime. In the 1960s facilities were upgraded with the construction of a sports stadium and a running track.

They are still beautiful today, and the park is well tended, but the Council has reluctantly closed the hothouses and outbuildings due to vandalism.
Unfortunately, he died before this could be achieved, but part of his plan was to make improvements to the Park. Handbridge Castle was one of them.
However, the horse and carriage parked outside shows there was still a demand from the equestrian trade.

Further along Park Street we find Lower Gordon Road; the Post Office, run by a Mr H L Love, is on the corner. The premises have since been converted into a private house.

From the Terrace there is a magnificent view to the north, looking out over Eton and the Home Park to the Chilterns in the far distance.
The first avenue of trees was planted in the park during 1753.
The Shepherd's Inn to the right is little changed today, though its car park has been extended to cater for the increase in motor traffic.
It is interesting to note that the old market place was being overtaken by cars as early as 1950, and parking was obviously already a problem.
The statue of King Alfred, erected in 1877, looks down on a car park taken over every Wednesday and Saturday by market stalls.
An Austin A35 and a Morris Minor are parked outside the Devonshire Arms public house in the centre of the village.
The railing and trees on the right are part of Brockwell Park, and the shops on the far side are under the Herne Hill to Tulse Hill railway line.
An interesting range of cars and vans occupy the car park.
The late Victorian buildings opposite survive, although sadly they have had all their windows replaced, and Green's on the right is now the Park Tavern.
A delivery van is parked outside Yellow Cottage.
As this village is at the far north of the Rhondda it is not too far from the Brecon National Park, famous for its rivers and waterfalls, carving out the limestone country.
